Q: Why does your site go to an HSBC website for payment?
A: We use HSBC Bank for our credit card processing as it has the highest levels of credit card security currently available.
Q: Do you accept cheques
A: Yes we do. When you get to the payment options in checkout please select Card Details or Cheque Sent Separately then print your receipt and send a copy with your cheque to us. Cheques should be made payable to BROUGHAM HALL FOODS LTD. Please note that at Christmas and New Year we turn off this option on 1st Dec because there is not enough time to allow a cheque to be processed and get the order to you . If you wish to pay be cheque at Christmas please pre order.
Q: What is the shelf-life of your smoked food?
A: Three weeks and they can be frozen.
Q: Why do you take 7 to 10 days to deliver, other smoked food websites deliver the next day?
A: We smoke all our products to order by hand, which takes 3 days, other smokeries mass produce in rapid smokers and then freeze them.
Q: When I am in checkout I get an error message "Encryption error" what does this mean?
A: We use 128 bit security (the highest available) on our site, older browsers do not support 128 bit and so our system will reject your order. You can solve this by updating your browser, which is free, by visiting the browsers website and downloading an up to date version. Or you can call us with your order.
